Talented Mr. Monk, mainly of Gocardless but with fingers in many pies including Lyles of London, pushed a great post on collaboration in design production.
It reads like a problem statement for something Alasdair has stared dabbling with. At least judging from SketchGit, a simple Git client integrated into Sketch. Can't wait to see if there is even more in the works.
There's been plenty of "tell" recently on Material Design, not enough "show".
For that reason, these interactive demos of Material Interactions by Jongmin Kim are by far the best thing out there on the topic.
Another framework gaining traction in product / design community is Jobs To Be Done.
It is easy to make too much of it, but it is an excellent way to start thinking from service perspective and inject some empathy in the process.
This slick, concise, slide-deck by Hütter, Jentsch and Jordan is an excellent place to get into it and to start exploring it further.
NYT had their list of best book covers of 2014 out. Heavy on Peter Mendelsund,of course Chip Kidd / Murakami combo is there too.
