Always great to hear Albert Wenger speak. Many VCs love to do "trends talks", few do them with the same perspective, scope and ambition.
I am intrigued by the fact that Wenger is talking up Basic Income Guarantee. It's not a new concept, but it is an path worth exploring. Certainly interesting to see a tech VC making proposals that converge with what, for example, David Graeber is arguing for as well.
UsTwo + Wearables + Time. Sounds extremely exciting. I mean, you have seen what they have done with Monument Valley?
While both the video and the designs are off the mark, I would not be as damning as Khoi Vihn.
Rather, it feels like the project was set up to fail. Perhaps by a confusing brief, certainly by ill-considered decision to publish the video.
This wearable / watch thing promises much, but will not be straightforward. Even the strongest design teams are struggling to nail it down - for now.
