I've just finished Sergio de la Pava's "A Naked Singularity - a self-publish to mainstream critical success story. Fascinating read, but it really made me think about two issues:
- As great as the raw, self-edit was, it is painfully clear that the book would have been a far greater work if it did go through the established editorial process.
- Wondering if the self-publisher authors will end up being the ones to push for new book formats - digital and physical alike.
Anyway, you can hear the author talk about some of these issues in this Guardian Books podcast. Stick around for Rawi Hage interview too.
